Los Angeles, CA - December 5, 2011 - Guitarist and producer Aaron Abeyta (aka El Hefe) and his wife Jennifer Abeyta have just announced the launch of a non-traditional record label called Cyber Tracks. This new cooperative venture "for artists, by artists" promises to empower bands by allowing them to share control, revenue, and decision-making equally with the label as opposed to the traditional '"label boss" and "talent" relationship.
Although El Hefe is an iconic figure in the punk rock arena, the couple will be opening their doors to all artists and welcoming all genres of music. "We were just looking for bands to record and produce when we came across Margate and realized how many amazing and talented unsigned artists are out there. They are incredible as a band and as individuals and really motivated us to start something more than just a production company," says El Hefe.
Cyber Tracks plans to share equal interest with their bands in all endeavors, and the Abeytas hope this arrangement and collaborative spirit will foster creativity. "Bands and labels have been jockeying for position against each other since the record industry began," says Margate guitarist Doug Mitchell, "and it's about time that someone realized that artists and labels should treat each other as equals. We're extremely fortunate that El Hefe and Jen had the same vision we did and we couldn't be more excited about the upcoming venture."

5/5/2011 - The record is in the can party people! We just got back from a fun-filled four day tracking session down at Paul Miner’s Buzzbomb Sound Labs and we can’t wait for you to hear the 6 songs we laid down. Paul is a true wizard and this EP sounds GIANT! The recording was made possible by all the people who contributed to our Kickstarter campaign – and to you we say a huge THANK YOU! Right now we’re finalizing mixes and we’ll have the masters in a couple of weeks. We’ll post the tracklisting and artwork as soon as those are finished, and we’ll also have some preview snippets and behind-the-scenes short documentaries of the recording session for you soon. Be on the lookout for the official album release in July!!
We’ve got some local shows coming up, hope to see you out at one! First up is tonight celebrating Cinco De Mayo at Chuy’s in Newhall. Next will be Thursday May 12th at the Hard Rock Café in Hollywood which should be a good old-fashioned rager.
